Tunepact — Name/Handle Policy
Last updated: 09/04/2025
This Name/Handle Policy ("Policy") sets the rules for selecting and using artist names, profile names, and Tunepage URLs/handles (e.g., tune.page/artist) on services provided by Tunepact, Inc. ("Tunepact," "we," "our," or "us"). This Policy is incorporated by reference into the Tunepact Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy.
1. Availability & Ownership
- Handles are issued on a first‑come, first‑served basis and must be unique.
- A handle grants a limited right to use that URL/identifier on Tunepact; it does not confer any intellectual property ownership outside of Tunepact.
- We may reassign, remove, or modify a handle to prevent impersonation, trademark infringement, or abuse, or to protect the integrity of the Services.
2. Prohibited & Restricted Handles
- Impersonation: You may not claim a handle that misleads others into believing you are another person, band, label, or brand.
- Trademark infringement: You may not claim a handle that infringes another party's trademark or service mark.
- Sensitive or reserved terms: You may not use handles that include Tunepact's brand, official roles (e.g., "admin," "support"), or reserved terms (e.g., bank names, government agencies), unless expressly authorized.
- Illegal or abusive content: No handles that contain slurs, hate speech, threats, or illegal content.
- Deceptive verification: No use of words/symbols implying verification or affiliation (e.g., "official," "verified," "_real_") unless granted by Tunepact.
3. Formatting Rules
- Length: 2–30 characters (subject to change). Allowed: letters, numbers, and underscores. No spaces.
- Case-insensitive and normalized; visually confusable substitutions (e.g., using 'l' for 'I') may be rejected.
- We may restrict repeated characters, punctuation, or formatting that harms readability or impersonates another account.
4. Fan, Parody, and Tribute Accounts
Fan and parody accounts must:
- Clearly state "fan," "parody," or "tribute" in both the handle or display name and profile bio.
- Avoid confusing the public about affiliation or endorsement.
- Remove or revise the handle/profile upon request if confusion or harm is likely.
5. Trademark Complaints & Disputes
If you believe a handle infringes your trademark, email ip@tunepact.com with:
- Your name, company (if applicable), and contact details.
- The trademark at issue, registration number/country (or evidence of unregistered/common‑law rights).
- The infringing handle and URLs, with a description of confusion.
- A statement that you have a good‑faith belief the use is unauthorized and that the information is accurate, under penalty of perjury.
- Proof of authority to act on behalf of the rights holder.
We may request additional information to evaluate claims, and we may notify the account holder and provide a chance to respond.
6. Inactivity & Reclaiming
We may reassign or release handles associated with accounts that are inactive for 12 months (no login or public activity), or sooner in cases of clear trademark infringement, impersonation, or policy violations. We do not guarantee availability of any particular handle.
7. Transfers & Sales
You may not buy, sell, auction, or otherwise transfer handles without Tunepact's prior written permission. Any attempt to do so may result in handle revocation and account action.
8. Verification & "Official" Labels
Any "verified," "official," or similar labels are granted at Tunepact's discretion based on criteria such as identity verification and risk. Misuse of badges or attempts to deceive users regarding verification status is prohibited.
9. Reporting & Appeals
To report handle abuse or impersonation, email abuse@tunepact.com with relevant URLs and evidence. If you disagree with a handle decision, you may submit an appeal to the same address. We will consider appeals but are not obligated to grant them.
10. Enforcement
We may remove content, rename or reassign handles, suspend or terminate accounts, and take other actions we deem appropriate to protect users and the platform. Enforcement may vary based on severity, context, and prior history.
11. Changes & Contact
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Services, and the "Last updated" date will be revised.
