EPK for Music Blogs

A blogger covering your release has to write several hundred words about an artist they have just heard of, usually today. Whether they cover you often comes down to how much of that work your press kit does for them. A press EPK exists to make writing about you fast.

What a press EPK leads with

The EPK Builder hosts all of these. This ordering is what writers tend to need first.

Short artist bio
A paragraph a writer can quote or condense without rewriting
Long artist bio
The full background, for the writer rather than the reader
Release information
Title, date, format, credits and label if there is one
Song links
Streaming links plus something playable in the page
Artwork
Cover art at a resolution that survives being printed
Press photos
Hi-res, correctly credited, ready to publish
Existing coverage
Anything previously written about you
Contact details
You or your PR, with a real response time

Why do most press pitches get ignored?

Usually not because the music is wrong — because covering you would take too long. A writer who has to email you for a hi-res photo, hunt for the release date and paraphrase a bio that does not exist will move to the next pitch. Removing that friction is most of what a press EPK is for.

  • A quotable bio paragraph is the field writers use most.
  • Hi-res artwork and press photos must be downloadable, not screenshotted.
  • Release date, credits and format save a round of email every time.
  • Existing coverage, however small, signals that someone else took a chance first.

How it works

1

Open the EPK Builder

Start a new EPK in your Tunepact account. Nothing is public until you publish it.

2

Lead with story and assets

Prioritise the bios, release information, artwork and hi-res press photos writers need to publish.

3

Publish and pitch

Send one link in your pitch email so the writer never has to ask you for anything.

  • One hosted, shareable EPK link
  • Short and long bios in one place
  • Hi-res artwork and press photos
  • Release information and existing coverage

Quick answers to common questions

Press kits lead with story and publishable assets: two bio lengths, release information, hi-res artwork and photos. Booking kits lead with live evidence — performance history, live photos and a booking contact.

They do different jobs. The short one gets quoted or pasted directly; the long one gives the writer the background they need to write something original. Supplying only one guarantees you get asked for the other.

High enough to print. If a publication has to ask you for a better file, you have introduced exactly the delay the EPK was meant to remove.

Include what exists, even a small blog. Writers are reassured by evidence that someone covered you before, and an empty section is better than an inflated one.

Weeks before release, not on release day. Blogs work ahead, and a pitch that arrives the morning the song goes live has usually already missed the window.

Yes. A public song page and a recorded artist story give a writer angle and quotes, which is often what turns a maybe into a piece.

What this does and does not do

  • Tunepact Toni uses AI and can make mistakes. Review and edit everything before you send your EPK to anyone.
  • The EPK Builder creates and hosts your press kit. It does not pitch you to venues, promoters, blogs or journalists.
  • You supply the photos, music links and performance history. Tunepact formats and hosts them.
  • An EPK does not create press interest on its own. It removes the friction from covering you once a writer is interested.
